Te escribo ahora para felicitarte por el blog. Lo he descubierto hace poco y me ha sorprendido gratamente. Hoy en día, esta es mi opinión, los sitios de interés brillan por su ausencia en el mundo cibernético. He dado, qué duda cabe, con uno de los que llevan la contraria, de los que valen la pena.
Veo que ofreces una más que asentada trayectoria en Internet. Y la dedicación mostrada en la página ratifica tu interés por compartir.
Soy un enamorado de la filosofía, desde que la conocí. Me acompaña desde la infancia. Siempre fiel compañera. Es un ejercicio crítico más que útil para formar y con-formar una conciencia responsable de dominio autónomo. Como saber de saberes, nos deleitamos (te incluyo, con tu permiso) ante la fascinación de un mundo que ofrece constantes retos intelectuales…
Tengo que confesarte que la desesperanza me habitaba últimamente al comprobar lo difícil que resulta dar con otras personas que disfruten del pensamiento, que gocen de la discusión y la lectura. A menudo, las inclinaciones personales convergen con premisas en exceso artificiales, que nublan con disidencia esa vanguardia utópica (eu-tópica más bien) que algunos, en una ingenuidad casi salvaje, pretendemos instaurar como luz y guía vitalicia.
Leo a Aquileana y veo en ella imperativos, categorías, fenómenos y experiencias, pero también sentimientos y emociones, conjuradas como hipótesis imaginarias, a veces reales, del “tercer entorno” meta-ético; es una cuestión de supervivencia.

Rezuma existencialismo… Pero es una postura vitalista y positiva también. El mundo, con sus jaulas y sus trampas, puede hacerse más dócil si sabemos jugar. Si no es más dócil, podemos plantearle apuestas. No es necesario un tratamiento altamente sofisticado, basta con observar y querer saber. El mundo se hace más soportable si se piensa. También más complejo. A veces, dolorosamente complejo. Es una cuestión de elección. Vivir por vivir o vivir, ser y hacer. ¿Acción contemplativa o inercia dinámica? ¿Paradoja? La vida lo es. Podremos discutirlo.
No he tenido tiempo para leer la totalidad de los artículos, todavía. Lo haré. Por ahora me ha bastado para saber que permaneceré una temporada por estos lares, en los que tan cómodo me encuentro.
Con el deseo de que avances en tus reflexiones y las compartas con los demás, me despido, por el momento.

Blogging since June 2013, my aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations, opinions and lighter-hearted stuff thrown in for good measure.
I normally keep to a couple of posts a day, maybe 3-4 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

I would like to use the detail from an amphora you have saved as symandro25 on the cover of a novella I am writing. The title is “Split Apart” and uses the Plato story from Symposium as a basis for people looking for their soul mates. It is a slightly paranormal romance in my “Greek Fire” series. The first book is titled Aphrodite on the Half Shell and is available on Amazon 😉 Please let me know if there is a copyright on this photo and the person to contact for permission to use it.
As far as I know there is not copyright, but you can check out online images for platonic love or amor platonico to be sure… But I guess you can use it… 🙂

I just realized that your name translates to Achilles Tendon. Some years ago my Achilles Tendon started to contract leaving me unable to walk. A fantastic Italian surgeon was visiting Scotland on an internship and he operated on my ankle. He told me it was highly likely that I would always have a limp but I now walk almost perfectly. I love your blog and can’t believe you are not writing in your first language. Mi espanol es malo… 😦
Hi there …. well Achilles tendon comes from Achilles, Homer´s heroe… my avatar is an image of Athena though… The translation is mistaken, so as to speak… Aquileana would translate to english as Achillean, but I think Google relates it to some sort of tendinitis… thanks so much for your wordS.. I have studied English since my school years… I guess blogging and reading as well as watching series and movies might help…

Hello! I am so glad I found your blog. One of my best teaching moments came when I was teaching my preschoolers about Greece; the children embraced Greek tragedies and comedies. They wrote their own stories and we performed them for a big audience. Their favorite play was a tragedy, people dying from smoking. Oh, how they practiced. They were so serious. When I give children the tools and support to do it themselves, the best teaching takes place. Thank you for a wonderful blog.

I always enjoy reading your mythology articles.
I am currently thinking about the god Proteus, so I would be interested in to learn what you could tell us about him. Maybe you could write an article about him?
I am currently looking for a new philosophical term for the non-formalizability, the “protean” nature of some aspects of reality (see https://denkblasen.wordpress.com/2017/02/21/in-search-of-a-new-philosophical-term/) and I am thinking to derive such a word from the name Proteus (something like “proteon” or “proteoid”).

If I find enough information, I will post about Proteus. But It will have to be for April, maybe May, as I have already scheduled a collaboration for the next post (middle March). I´ll let you know here as a reply then…

Chaos and light and the beginning of the world… I guess Internet might be light and darkness, according to how we use it (?)… Appreciate the visit! Best wishes 😀

Very interesting…I had not looked at Hesiod’s Theogony, but now that I have I can see your reasoning. The inter-connectivity of Greek life through the gods and today’s internet are good comparisons. Universal communication, images to guide our lives, virtual relationships, the mysterious “cloud,” a constant seeking of “the truth”, and finally, an incessant need to know what the future might hold applies to both paradigms.
