“The Pleiades” by Elihu Vedder (1885).
______________________________________________________________________________________
The Pleiades were seven sisters: Maia, Electra, Alcyone, Taygete, Asterope, Celaeno and Merope.
Their parents were Atlas, a Titan who held up the sky, and the Oceanid Pleione, the protectress of sailing.
They were the sisters of the Hyades (a sisterhood of Nymphs that bring rain) and they were all together known as Atlantides .
As it was already said, they were seven in number, six of whom are described as visible, and the seventh as invisible.
Some call the seventh Merope and relate that she became invisible from shame, because she alone among her sisters had had intercourse with a mortal man; Sisyphus, the King of Corinth.
Another explanation for the ‘lost’ star related to the myth of the Electra, an ancestress of the royal house of Troy. After the Trojan War and the destruction of that city, the grief stricken Electra abandoned her sisters and was transformed into a comet, everafter to be a sign of impending doom.
The word Pleiades was derived from the Greek word pleiôn, meaning “plenty “. Another suggested derivations include: from πλεῖν plein, “to sail,” making the Pleiades the “sailing ones”; from πλέος pleos, “full, many”; or from πελειάδες Peleiades, “flock of doves.”

They Pleaides were the virgin companions of Artemis, the Goddess of hunting and the Moon.
Whilst stalking a hind, the hunter Orion crept into a sunlit glade, disturbing the sisters.
He then began to pursue them relentlessly.
In frustration, Artemis pleaded with Zeus to for his intervention.
Therefore, Zeus transformed the sisters into a flock of doves, and soon after, into stars.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Artemis was angry because she no longer could see her companions and asked her brother, Apollo, to kill Orion.
Apollo, Artemis´ brother, having been affronted by the mortal hunter’s prowess, was persuaded to set a monstrous Scorpion to attack Orion.
Finally, Zeus set the dead hunter in the sky in a vain pursuit of the Pleiades through the night sky for eternity, with the constellation Scorpio ever chasing after Orion, the hunter.
In many accounts, Apollo directed the scorpion to go after Orion. As he wanted to protect Artemis´chastity vows. He placed Orion´s constellation in the skies, along with Scorpio. Thus, at night, when Scorpio comes, Orion simultaneously begins to drop away to the opposite side, forever hightailing it away from the scorpion.
These two opponents, Orion and the Scorpion, were placed amongst the stars as their namesake constellations. But, they are positioned on opposite sides of the sky, one sets as the other rises.
The Scorpion rises as Orion starts to sink into the other side of the sky, and this was seen as Orion running away from the attacker, and still in fear of him.
Thus, Scorpius rule the northern hemisphere’s summer while Orion rules the winter skies.
From an astronomic point of view, Orion is known as the “mighty hunter” and is one of the most recognizable constellations in the sky.
The three stars in the Belt of Orion show up clearly in northern winter sky and align with the celestial equator; halfway between the North and South Poles.

When it comes to astronomy, the Nine bright stars of the Pleiades are named for the Seven Sisters, along with their parents Atlas and Pleion.
The Pleiades is an open star cluster, containing middle-aged stars, located in the constellation of Taurus.
Taurus is composed of two main groups of stars: the Pleaides and the Hyades, both of them called Atlantides in Greek Mythology.
The Pleiades, as mentioned, were placed in the sky by Zeus, as Artemis asked the Ruler of Gods to keep them safe from the lusty Orion.
The Seven Hyades lie 10° southeast of the Pleaides.
Mythologically, the Pleiades were daughters of Atlas and Aethra, and hence half-sisters of the Pleaides, with whom they made up the Fourteen Atlantides.
The Hyades were placed among the stars as a reward for their sisterly love, which was evinced by their sorrow at the death of their brother Hyas who was drowned in a well, or, in another version of the myth, he was killed by a wild beast in Libya).
The face of Taurus is marked by the V-shaped group of stars called the Hyades. It is among the nearest stars cluster to Earth and is the easily visible to in the night sky.

Annex: There is a similar Greek Myth which involves Stars and Constellations.
Specifically, the greek story featuring Zeus and his lover Callisto, in which Arcas and Callisto are transformed to stars, The Ursa Minor and Major, respectively. And after that, Callisto is transformed to a bear.
According to a different version of the myth of Zeus and Callisto, Zeus transformed himself to his sister Goddess Artemis, the Goddess of Nature and Hunting, in order to mate with Callisto.
Again, Hera, used to her husband’s cheating methods, figured out what was going on and tried to catch them on action, but then Zeus-Artemis changed Callisto back in to a bear and made her the largest constellation in the northern sky.
Located at the top of the heavens, these two stars of the two bear-constellations, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, never set, meaning, they are always visible in the night sky, all night, every night, throughout the year.
One version of the myth explains why they were positioned so… Zeus placed Callisto in the sky as the constellation Ursa Major, or “Great Bear”, and her son, Arcas who was also Zeus’ son, as Ursa Minor, as “Little Bear”.
Finally, a further point on the subject of the Pleiades.
When, it comes to Native American Mythology, probably the most famous legend of the Pleiades, is the story behind Devil’s Tower, Wyoming, a volcanic rock which the local Kiowa Indians call Mateo Tepe. According to that account, once seven maidens camped near the river in a region known to have many bears.
One of the bears began to chase the maidens, who knelt to pray for help, calling upon the gods. The ground was raised into the sky. The bear tried to follow in vain and clawed the side of the rock, the marks of which are seen on the Tower.
To protect the maidens, the Great Spirit allowed them to remain in the sky as the seven sisters, the Pleiades.

What a wonderful reminder that astronomy is so woven into the mythological tapestry. The number seven always seems to be a recurring theme.
Dear Marissa!… Thanks for the clever comment!… You are right as to number seven as a pattern when it comes to myths and religions, belonging to different cultures… Same thing applies to number three.. Maybe one day I´ll write about them!… Love and best wishes. Aquileana 😀
A great idea. It is so fascinating.
My dear friend, where have you been? I am glad to see your post, I was worried and hope you just took some time off.

I love these myths! On the part of the hunter, guessing this Is where the saying ‘Once you send the hunter you can not call him back’ comes from huh!
Thanks so much for your comment… I almost lost it, Andy… 😉
I guess that could be related to the origin of the saying … LOL 🙂 All the best to you!. Aquileana 😀

Thanks a lot for your beautiful comment!.
I truly appreciate your words, dear Jay!. All my best wishes, Aquileana 😀
I do love the North American Indian take on the Pleiades which I’ve never heard before. I am familiar with Greek mythology although not in the depth which you tell it. But it is always interesting for me to hear about other cultures myths that I am a lot less familiar with.
Hi there dear Caroline… thanks so much for your visit and comment… This is not a very well known myth… I was glad to learn about it and the North American version… there should be a unconscious mythological reservoir, I guess. Otherwise it might be hard to explain these similarities, among such different cultures. Sending love and best wishes. Aquileana 😘
Another great, informative post. And somewhat topical. I stayed up late last night to watch the Pleiades meteor show. What a show.
While I remember some of what you posted, I had never heard the story of Devil’sTower. Amazing how myths transcend oceans and cultures.
So you were able to see the Pleiades meteor show?… Lucky, you! ⭐
Thanks so much for your comment as I appreciate it very much! All my best wishes, Aquileana 😀
It is always a treat to look at your latest post, this one had such wonderful images I really enjoyed studying them.
Thanks so much… I can’t thank you enough for your comment, dear Susan… All my best wishes, Aquileana 😀
Ah, the seven sisters. I was always fascinated by them. As always you have done what I love about your posts. Gone right behind the scenes, finding stories I never knew. Thank you. Thank you. And for the award xxxxxxxxx
Hi dear She!. Thanks so much for the beautiful comment!… Always great to read your words and pleased to know that you enjoyed this delivery… Hugs and happy weekend! Aquileana 😉
Interesting how often do you find similar mythologies in very different cultures. It’s also interesting to see how they differ– How they reflect the different cultures. In one culture the girls are trying to escape a bear and in another they’re trying to escape attack from a man. And those mythologies pretty much reflect the cultures of their times. The American Indians worried about bears. And this form of the Greek myth reflects what happened to the Mediterranean when the more violent and male-dominated Indo-Europeans took over after attacking the more egalitarian and peaceful goddess worshiping people.
Hi dear Georgia!.
Thanks for this clever comment!. I think that we can always analyse myths both diachronically and synchronously, regardless of the culture involved.
As you said we can find the similarities BUT also the differences, which probably speak out louder!.
A bear and a man, in these two different cultures… I guess the difference here would be related to the levels of civilization versus savagery.
Also on a further point, there are other american legends, such as the Sioux´s, that linked the origin of the Pleiades to Devils Tower (Located in Wyoming)… https://es.pinterest.com/pin/361976888778853426/
It seems that the Devils Towers meaning was “Bear Lodge” (Lakota: Matȟó Thípila)… This Tribe had cultural and geographical ties to the monolith before non-Indians reached Wyoming and they called it “Grizzly Bear Lodge”.
I appreciate you shared your thoughts here. All my best wishes! Aquileana 😉
In the Mythology there are always sexual connotations as much as tragic endings. It may be fascinating or intriguing but with an overtone of violence. This comment is my personal opinion. You do an outstanding work Aquileanna, my best wishes to you. Have a great weekend! 🙂
I think your views are accurate and clever… One wonders why Freud love Greek Mythology so much, eh!…
Thanks so much for your clever comment dear HJ. I truly appreciate your words, my friend. Happy weekend to you as well… Hugs and best wishes. Aquileana ⭐
The Pleiades group of sisters, transforming into stars, protectors, and other celestial forms through mythological permutations and combinations, are interesting and confounding at the same time. Nicely presented and sequenced, I will group you with them and call it ‘aqui’tides…warm hugs and best wishes.. Raj.
Thanks so much for your clever comment dear Raj. Your words are beautifully penned. And… yes you are right… this one is a myth in which we can see many metamorphosis and permutations…. Also, punishments, as per usual!.
Thanks for the feedback!. I am really pleased to know that you liked the post… Hugs and best wishes. Aquileana ⭐
As always, very interesting, thanks 🙂
Thanks so much, dear Elisa! I am really pleased to know that you liked the post… Best wishes. Aquileana ⭐

“He then began to pursue them relentlessly.”—Similar to what some guys in bars do to women today. 😉 (And perhaps vice versa!)
Lovely post as always.
Ha!… Yes, that´s so true… For both genres!:.. Thanks for the clever comment… You made me smile! 🙂
All my best wishes, dear Carrie. Happy weekend. Aquileana ⭐
Happy weekend to you too!

Aquileana 😉
You had me totally transfixed on these sisters and the poor dear #7. Very interesting and as always amazing work you do to share these beautiful Mythologies.
Hi there dear Mary!… I feel so sorry for Merope (or, according to other accounts, for Electra)… When it comes to Goddesses or semi Goddesses, getting involved with mortals always had bad consequences!
Thanks so much for droppin by… I really appreciate your words!… All my best wishes. Aquileana 😉
Now my stargazing will have a whole new depth to it. Thank you, Aquileana. all my best. Melissa
Thanks a lot for the kind words… I am very pleased to know that you enjoyed this mythological account!… All my best wishes! Aquileana 😀
The story of Pleiades is one of the most inspirational mythology pieces, for me, the accompanying artworks add more to that harmony.
Thanks so much dear Oloriel… I agree with you… Its is a beautiful account!… Happy to know that you enjoyed it..
All my best wishes. Happy weekend. Aquileana ⭐
Lemon pie is delicious, I agree!
Ha! High Five, dear Letizia 😀 😉 Love and best wishes! Aquileana 🙂

What a wonderful and fascinating post. So much to learn for me as I knew absolutely nothing about the Pleiades. Then I found on Google that there are several Aboriginal stories regarding the origins of the seven sisters. Thank you so much, dear Aquileana, for bringing to us those old myths that tried to explain our universe. Best wishes and hugs 🙂 Irina

I didn’t know that one was invisible,,Love to learn new facts about the myths,xx Rachel
Thanks so much, dear Rachel! I am really pleased to know that you liked the post… Best wishes. Aquileana ⭐
All quite new to me this… Wow, what a story. It’s a shame Merope felt like she did, besides, look at how many gods have had sex with mere mortals! Surely the shame must be more to the loss of her virginity than to having done it with a mortal? 😉 Thanks again for sharing dear, Aquileana! 🙂
Thanks so much, dear Kev!. You are right as to Merope… She was punished in a cruel way, with that veil of invisibility… And all because she fell for a mere mortal. Sigh!. Yes, I guess the punishment was more due to the fact of losing the virginity than because of just having sex with a mortal… Thanks for the clever feedback!. I am really pleased to know that you liked the post… Best wishes. Aquileana
I love your posts and insight, Aquileana. I especially like it when you fuse the Greek as well. I studied ancient Greek in uni 😉

Thanks so much for reblogging this post! … I truly appreciate that!.
Happy weekend and all my best wishes, Aquileana 😀
Siempre inteligente y perspicaz, amigo. Muchas gracias y un abrazo para vos. Aquileana ⭐
Oh this is lovely, Aquileana. I’m going to read this to my sons as we are heading toward amazing night skies this fall in the Arizona desert (technically, the skies are stunning now but it really is so, so hot to be outside.) Also, I love the art with the doves coming from lovely flowing hair ~~~~~ Happy August, friend ❤
How great to know that you´ll be sharing this myth with your sons… Amazing to know…
Thanks so much for your valuable comment, as it means a lot to me. Hugs and happy weekend dear Angie! Aquileana ⭐
Congratulations to the three nominations!
The Pleiades are in fashion these days, because they are the benchmark of the shooting stars.
Your piece is always interesting for information on Greek mythology and beyond.
Good night
I didn´t know the link between the Pleiades and the shooting stars … I´ll dig into it soon!… Thanks so much for your comment NWB. I much appreciate it!. All my best wishes, Aquileana 😀
Wonderful post, Aquileana. I considered naming a band I was starting The Pleiades once, but someone had already taken the name 😉
Cheers!
Thanks a lot for your comment, dear Jeff!. I am pleased to know that you enjoyed the reading!. Sending you all my best wishes!. Aquileana 😀
I’ve been busy with a new job, so have been way behind on my reading. But finally having some time to catch up. Always love your posts. Enjoy the weekend!
Dear Jeff!… Pass the the link for your new blog, please so I can take a peak!… Yours. Aquileana 😉
LOL – new job, not a new blog. Blogging I do for fun 😉
For a living, I write technical manuals for the computer industry. I enjoy it, but when you’re writing in that environment and start with a new company, then it is a lot to read and learn before you can effectively write about a complex application.
So no, it’s still just “Stuff Jeff Reads,” just a little less stuff for the time being 😉
Cheers!
Gotcha… Blog in the sense of post!…
I´ll be there soon to check out updates!… At “Stuff Jeff Reads”, of coursewink! 😉 …
I know what you mean as to technical things.. As a lawyer and from my scope I can relate as well… But at the end… things tend to make sense as a whole that´s what I think!… So there are always subtle connections… even among opposites. Best to you, dear Jeff! Aquileana 😀
Wow – I had no idea you were a lawyer. I just thought you were the most brilliant mythologist I’ve ever met. You’re full of surprises 🙂
Always expect the unexpected!… Cheers, my friend. Happy weekend! Aquileana ⭐
Wonderful post dear Aquileana! Most of this information was new to me and so interesting! Have a wonderful weekend, best wishes Clare 🙂

This beautiful piece explores the multiple origins and mythological interpretations of the Seven Sisters constellation, Yet again, she pairs beautiful art with a thoroughly researched essay. I’m in heaven.
So beautifully done, it amazes me how you manage to churn one brilliant piece after another, where do you get the time do so much research and also manage to read so many blogs and able to reply meticulously to each reader…kudos to your creativity, consistency and compassion you bring in your posts and comments you share.
take care and have a lovely weekend.

Thanks so much for your feedback!…. I am humbly gratefu, dear Nihar!. Alll my best wishes. Aquileana ⭐
Excellent, I didn’t know the history of the constellations and I find them absolutely fascinating, the imagination possessed to bring such rich stories to the world…it is no wonder they have stayed with us even when times have changed.
I am intrigued to know what got you into the Greek myths in the first place?
Thanks so much for your feedback, dear Ste. You comments are always beautifully penned!…
As to your question, It is hard to say but I guess it all started when I was at High School as we had Literature and History of Art as an orientation… And I picked up that one insted of Sciences… I am grateful to those two teachers María Cristina and Noemí, respectively!!!… Best wishes and I hope you have a great weekend! Aquileana 😉

I really enjoyed this! I had a gr. gr. grandmother named Electra and always thought it such an odd name for the times. Now I know more of its origins, thank you This was a fantastic post!! 🙂
That´s a very interesting story… Electra is also an character of a tragedy by Sophocles. It recounts the tale of Electra and the vengeance that she and her brother Orestes take on their mother Clytemnestra and step father Aegisthus for the murder of their father, Agamemnon.
It also seems that the pleiade named Electra was related to this story… I am not sure if they are the same one, though!.
Thanks so much for your interesting comment!… Happy week and best wishes. Aquileana ⭐
BUONA DOMENICA 🙂

Dear Aquileana, yet another outstanding post filled with more information than I knew.. I especially loved the information about the Native American Mythology.. and there are one or two things on the net about ‘The pleiandians’ too 🙂
I hope Summer has been good to you? and that all is well in your world? I have had a fabulous Summer so far.. 🙂 xxx Hugs and Love Sue ❤
Dear Sue!: Thanks so much for your valuable comment…. I read many little myths related to the Pleiades in Native American Mythology… But some of them were quite erratic, to be truth!… I´ll check out the pleiandians, as per your suggestion!.
I am doing very well but a little bit busier… I´ll tell you that my summer ended in June 21st hehe… I know you are thinking according to your hemisphere. My winter has been a nice one so far… We´ll soon enter Spring, on September!…
Love, hugs and best wishes for a perfect week! Aquileana 😉
Its always amazing how our Seasons vary.. Yet a delight when we think of Spring awakening as we prepare for sleep as the tree’s shed their leaves for Winter soon..
Yes do check out.. I read a book years ago by this author.. Eye opening stuff
http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/pleyades/pleiadiansbook/pleiadiansbook_contents.htm
Thanks so much for the beautiful thoughts… The Cycle of seasons is certainly amazing and how it varies from one Hemisphere to the other, even more!.
Also I appreciate so much that you sent me that link!. It is holiday here today so I´ll make sure to get through it during the evening. Many hugs, dear Sue! Aquileana 😀
You are most welcome…. Now my lunch is just buzzing me as its on a timer in the oven LOL.. 🙂 xx Enjoy.. I think you may well find some of it fascinating . If not all digestible.. But It hit a cord with me in the 90’s when I first got introduced to the material.. And keeps popping back up like in your post LOL.. to remind me to think deeply once again.. 🙂
I´ll get into it little by little… I love challenges, even more when I feel attracted by the issue.. ;)… Happy lunch and beyond my friend! Aquileana 😀
It was a Happy Lunch .. 🙂 Roasted veggies 🙂
Sounds yummy, dear Sue! … 🌞✨ Hugs to you! Aquileana 😀

What a great history of the The Pleiades, and so much is seen by us in the night sky…even more inspiration when looking at the cosmos. I love the bit about Electra abandoning her sisters and transforming into a comet. I meet up with my nieces and nephews in a couple weeks, and now when we look at the night sky I can tell them a story ~ 🙂 Cheers to a great week Aquileana.
Dear Dalo!… Thanks for your beautiful comment!… I didn’t know much about the Pleiades either… There are many myths behind the stars, I guess 😉 .. I agree with you as to Electra (according to other versions, it could have been Merope)… It is a quite sad bit of the story… But at least she became a fleeting, invisible star, so as to say.
I hope that you could be able to distinguish the Pleiades with your nieces and nephews, my friend. Love and best wishes to you! Aquileana ⭐
I remember the Pleiades being one of the first constellations I remember being able to find when I first got into the night sky in elementary school. I didn’t know much about their background though, so thanks as always. Now there are night sky apps that take all of the work out of identifying constellations, but I still know a good number unassisted.
Hi dear Jeri!… The Pleiades constellation is not visible in the Southern Hemisphere… Did You know that?…. So I guess that for us it would be like seven Meropes or Electra (i.e the invisible sister among those seven stars!. Ha)… Thanks for your comment… As you know, I always appreciate reading your words so much !… It is holiday here today, so keeping it up with the previous lineament, I´d say that stars are on my side!.
All my best wishes! Happy week! Aquileana ⭐
hello aquileana its dennis the vizsla dog oh hay wow the pleiades!!! dada sez he has got them on th frunt and bak of his kar!!! i am not shoor wot he is dooing with goddesses on his kar but i gess that must be a gud thing rite??? ok bye
I guess that being able to see the stars from his car is certainly a good thing…. I mean, life is so hectic these days that chances are we just forget to look up to the sky!…. Sigh!… Thanks for dropping by, dear Dennis. All my best wishes to you! Aquileana ⭐
It’s all so convoluted. Yet, it all seems placed very perfectly within the stars.
A beautiful comment, my friend!… Thanks so much … I am wishing you a great starry week, dear Resa! Love! Aquileana 😀

The Pleiades…I can look up in the sky and find these stars!! And know them by name. But I never actually knew the story behind the seven sisters, beyond that they were sisters. So thanks again for the wonderful rendition of history/mythology? And congrats on all the new awards. You get like one a week or more, eh?
Thanks so much for the comment here… Pleased to know that you enjoyed the post… I didn’t know much about the myth behind the cluster of stars either, so it was also new to me!… I appreciate your words!.
I get awards and when I reach three, I post them!… Not sure about the frequency though… It can vary, I guess 😉
All my best wishes to you! Aquileana 😀

I always journey far with your posts, but I would never have imagined that you would send me some 440 light-years up in the unfathomable depths of our Universe! How clever our progenitors were! They looked up at the star patterns and shaped myths interwined with philosophy. You have wonderfully displayed the myth of this brilliant star cluster!Sending love to you my lovely friend Aquileana ~ Have a splendid winter day 🙂 Doda ❤ xxx

A wonderfully informative and beautifully illustrated post, as always, Aquileana. It’s fascinating the way in which so much Greek mythology can be found by just studying the constellations. I love all the stories you outlined today. I knew of the Seven Sisters, but didn’t know their names – or the collective name of Pleiades. Nor did I know that they were transformed into doves at one stage. All really interesting… 😀
Dear Millie… Most of the stuff included on this post was absolutely new to me as well.. I am so happy that we can learn together… I really appreciate your words and support here… Wishing you all the best, always. Aquileana 🙂
Your posts always fascinate me, so I’m more than happy to read! Very best wishes to you, too. 🙂

My Mother’s name was Ursula, so I’m always interested in reading anything about her name, which wasn’t a common one when I was growing up. I so enjoyed reading about both Ursa Major and Minor, and did know that her name meant “little bear.”
Thanks so much dear Elisa… I am glad to know that this post helped you shed light with regard to your mom´s name… It means Little bear indeed!: http://www.behindthename.com/name/ursula All my best wishes to you. Aquileana 😉

Thank you for the post, dear Aquileana! Pleiades are my favorites because of the spectacular annual meteorite showers occurring in August.

Thanks so much dear Inese… Very happy to know that you enjoyed the post!… I heard about the meteorite showers in August… But, as far as I am concerned, It is visible only in the Northern Hemisphere!… (Bad for me!)

Indian mythology, some say history, is not talking about stories from Bharata Varsha (Indian subcontinnent) alone, but from other Varsha’s or zones on Jambudvipa. To know what is Jambudvipa refer to the blog Decode Hindu Mythology by Vineet Aggarwal.
Aquileana thanks for another interesting myth or myths I enjoyed reading about the seven sisters as I am one of seven sisters. I like the one where they are chased by the bear into the sky. The stars have always fascinated me, thanks again for brightening my winters night.
Thanks a lot for dropping by and for your comment!. 🙂 I am really pleased to know that you liked the post onj the Seven starry sisters, dear Kath… Thanks for brightening my day, too! Best wishes. Aquileana 😉
What a soap opera! You’d think with all the scandals and personalities people would be fighting to grab these stories. You do good by sharing all this – maybe it will encourage some to read more….even if it is old dusty classic traditional literature. (HA HA – these are so universal and timeless)
Enjoy the way you weave the myths with astronomy (and the start illustrations). Wish schools would teach literature and connected science together. Student would be better educated ( and more interested)
Great post
Thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement!. I am pleased to know that you enjoyed and truly appreciate your words here!. Oh… Plus I agree with you as to Greek Mythology as a good resource to be taught!… You are right!… All my best wishes. Aquileana ⭐

Me alegro mucho leerte…
Aquileana ⭐
Excellent work, my little tribute to Greece appears insignificant in front of the monument of your culture … !!!

Buongiorno Cara Aquileana,
It is fascinating the way mythology and astronomy intertwine. The ancients vision of the universe and explanation for the transition of individuals into constellations was clever.
Loved the post.

As we were looking at the alignment of the five planets that we can see in the am, we were discussing just how beautiful The Pleiades are. It’s like someone threw a handful of diamonds.
Hi my friend… Did you have the chance to look at them recently?… If so, I bet it was an outstanding experience…
Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving this beautiful comment… sending much love. Aquileana ⭐

After a long time I have come across a very fine blog. Nice to meet you
Thanks so much … It is a pleasure to connect with you. I am loving your poems!… all my best wishes. Aquileana 😀
I recently read an article in a Spanish magazine called Año Cero stating that some ancient cultures like the Aztecs or even the Egyptians lined up their pyramids with the Pleiades and some anthropologists claim that the reason is that the Earth was visited by alien races coming from those stars. Have you heard that before?
That´s is so interesting dear Fatima!… I have not read about that particular “connection” involving aliens, ancient cultures and The Pleaiades, so to speak. But there are many theories which link Ancient Pyramids with aliens, stating only a more developed civilization would have been able to build them back them. Thanks so much for sharing this information. I much appreciate the comment and visit… Wishing you an excellent week ahead! 😀 ❤
